A Chandler police officer was injured in a two-car crash Tuesday. The collision occurred at 7:16 a.m. in the westbound lane of state Route 202 at Cooper Road, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The collision occurred at 7:16 a.m. in the westbound lane of Loop 202 San Tan Freeway at Cooper Road, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The crash blocked one lane of traffic, DPS said.

Detective Frank Mendoza, Chandler police spokesman, said the injured officer was Sgt. Burt Robinson and that he was in his personal car.

Mendoza said Robinson suffered whiplash.
