TUCSON - Two cousins who were beaten to death in a random attack in Phoenix have been laid to rest.

Organs of 2 Phoenix slain boys are donated

The family of 7-year-old Jesse Ramirez and 10-year-old Edwin Pellecier say the boys were never too far from each other, constantly playing sports and watching monster-truck shows.

Both from Tucson, the boys were buried side by side in small, white coffins at a cemetery there after they were eulogized Saturday.

Jesse and Edwin were brutally beaten at a Phoenix park on Dec. 23 and died of their injuries within hours of each other the day after Christmas.

Jesse's grandfather, Rudy Casillas, says the family is still in shock and can't understand the attack.

Joe Sauceda Gallegos, 36, is charged in their deaths. He's being held in a Maricopa County jail.
