The Scottsdale-based Mountain View Little League team has advanced to the Junior Little League World Series after beating Hawaii 3-0 on Tuesday in the championship of the Junior Western Region Championships in Aliso Viejo, Calif.

Grant Martinez and Cody Erickson combined on a two-hitter for Mountain View in the championship game. The Scottsdale team, which is comprised of players 13 and 14 years old, took a 1-0 lead after a Luc Trotta double and a pair of Hawaii errors. Martinez and Michael Salazar later added RBI hits to give Mountain View some insurance runs.

Mountain View, which is now 18-0 this season, travels again on Friday for the Junior Little League World Series in Taylor, Mich. Pool play for the 12 LLWS teams begins Monday.
