An early morning mobile home fire in Apache Junction east of Phoenix has claimed a life.

Apache Junction Fire Department Deputy Chief David Montgomery said crews responded to the fire just before 2 a.m. Wednesday at a mobile home park near Apache Trail and Ironwood Road.

Crews found one mobile home on fire with the blaze spreading to an adjacent mobile home and an R-V.

The mobile home burned to the ground. As crews were checking for hot spots, they found the body of a 52-year-old woman.

No other injuries were reported. Montgomery said two other people escaped the flames before crews arrived.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
