Syntax-Brillian said Friday it launched its Olevia brand high-definition televisions in Japan’s commercial markets.
The Tempe-based manufacturer of HDTVs and digital cameras said its products will debut in the public display with the purchase order of 3,000 42-inch liquid crystal display HDTVs from Japanese telecom company NTT Group.
Syntax-Brillian also said it received an initial purchase order of 20,000 42-inch LCD TV units from its marketing, logistics and support partner BMT, which it expects to begin delivering in the second quarter.
The company said it expects to sell about 50,000 units this year.
