A new 279-unit apartment complex in Tempe is attracting potential leasers with innovative amenities and high-tech gadgets.
The District on Apache is the newest apartment complex to enter the ever-popular area surrounding the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe.
“The District takes apartment living in Tempe to the next level,” said Caitlin Bayley, the facility’s leasing manager. “We pride ourselves on featuring the most cutting edge and modernized amenities.”
The District has multiple pools, including one that’s a lazy river – something it claims no apartment complex in the city has. The complex also hosts an outdoor movie theatre and a virtual golf course.
“In the pool area, there are four shaded cabanas with misting systems, a 20-person hot tub, fire pits and barbeque grills all while you can watch the large 8-foot-by-14-foot TV with a 150-inch screen,” Bayley said.
Shaylin Brada, a future District on Apache resident, credits the “cool amenities” as to why she chose the District to live in this upcoming school year.
“I’m excited about the social community, I’m also excited to meet new people and the lazy river is definitely a plus,” Brada said.
Located right off of Apache Boulevard, the apartment complex is also receiving attention because of the short walk to campus. Due to the cost of parking at ASU’s Tempe campus, some students have resorted to finding a close apartment complex, one where they bypass paying campus parking.
Leticia Mendoza, a junior at ASU, said she tries to get as much “bang for the buck” and credits that to her switch this coming fall from living in another apartment complex.
“Many other apartment complexes are similarly priced, but you don't get as much as you do at the District,” Mendoza said. “Not to mention it is a brand new complex, conveniently located right next to campus, which is a huge plus because parking on campus is such a hassle.”
The District is also fully furnished, something Brada said makes it a good fit for college students.
“I love that it’s fully furnished, it’s nice for me because I’m not staying in Arizona after I graduate and I didn’t want to spend money on furniture,” Brada said.
Another amenity students are drawn towards is the privacy, Bayley said.
“Every bedroom has its own bath, which is always a plus, also there is a security system installed in every unit, which can be activated if wanted,” Bayley said.
The complex units range from one-bedroom to four-bedroom options and in total the complex hosts 900 total rentable bed spaces, Bayley said.
