A northern Arizona ski resort that got nearly three feet of snow from recent storms is opening this week.

Skiers and snowboarders can hit the slopes Thursday at the Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff. Another ski area, Sunrise Park Resort near Greer, plans to open a day earlier. A winter storm moving into the state late Tuesday into Wednesday morning could bring even more snow to the resorts.

Officials at the Snowbowl say they’ll supplement the natural snow between storms by using newly installed snowmaking equipment.
