An excellent bill. Anyone who votes against it should be voted against next election.

Definitely a good bill. My employer or potential employer should no more be allowed to poke around in my private social media or email accounts that he should be allowed to come and search my home before hiting me.

    "hiring," not "hiting"

Great bill. This needs to be done nationally. Employers have no business getting into the personal lives of employees or potential employees this way.

If I found out that an employer coerced someone on my friends list to hand over their user ID and pw, I'd probably sue that company because they now have access to info that I did NOT make available to the public. My privacy settings are very specific for my information.

Beyond that, it's a violation of Facebook's user policy to give someone else your credentials, so anyone who does this is already at odds with Facebook.

I have no idea how companies who have the time to snoop around the innards of an employee's Facebook account also find the time to turn a profit.

Man am I royaly confused about this. What would make any employer think they have any right whatsoever to ask, or far worse, demand, that information?
