Should an injury sideline you, the Arizona Orthopedic Surgical Hospital (AOSH) is offering free orthopedic sports injury evaluations on Saturdays this fall. These sessions will be conducted by orthopedic surgeons who specialize in sports medicine and include both an evaluation and treatment recommendation.
Athletes should come prepared with identification information, proof of insurance (which can be discussed if no insurance is available) and MRIs or X-rays.
Diagnostic testing, such as an X-ray or MRI, is not included as part of the evaluation. Athletes will be responsible for insurance co-pays, deductibles and services not covered by insurance. A parent, guardian, athletic trainer or coach must be present.
Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., with examinations 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., at the hospital, 2905 W. Warner Road, Chandler.
For more information, call (480) 603-9000 or visit azosh.com.

Whle this is a nice service, unless parents grow up and stop allowing their kids to play very dangerous "sports",like football, chidren will keep getting severely injured or permanently crippled. After 40 years in medicine and treating or burying kids from football injuries, I assure you wannabee macho parents that I never had a smart-mouth answer from a mother or father when their child was laying in the hospital bed, unable to move his arms or legs. A million ER vists a year from football injures and thousands of permanent injuries. Brilliant.
