Doll, executive vice president, Subaru of America, Inc.

Over the weekend The 17th Annual Papago Military Vehicle show was held. The rains held off til Sunday giving visitors a chance to see many restored military vehicles from WWII to Iraq up close. Humvees and tanks were very popular with the crowds. Even with the inclement weather, car and truck buffs were treated to an indoor swap meet featuring army surplus, parts, uniforms, fatigues, and collectibles. Military vehicles were judged for originality, body condition, and detail with awards presented at a dinner Saturday night in honor of the event. All proceeds from a canned food drive went to The National Guard Family Assistance Program and organizers were sponsored by “The Young Marines”, a nationwide organization founded in 1958.

If you enjoyed this great event or missed it there is another similar military show coming up in March! The Arizona Historical Military Transport Association is proud to present the 4th Annual Military Transport Show hosted by the Commemorative Air Force Museum (home of the “B-17G Sentimental Journey”). The show will be held the weekend of April 5th and 6th at its facility located in Mesa. There will be something fun and exciting for the whole family. Many unique and historical military vehicles and aircraft will be on display as well as a military swap meet, collectibles, food and lots of family fun. We will give you more information on this event as the date draws nearer.

It’s the beginning of a new year and there's lots to see and do with special events coming to Phoenix. Stay with On The Arizona Road for more new car dealership reviews, and show events!
