Arizona drivers saw pump prices rise last week after 10 consecutive weeks of falling, according to AAA Arizona.

In the East Valley, fuel was up 3.5 cents per gallon on Thursday, to $3.444. That’s still 30 cents lower than a year ago when the East Valley average was $3.781.

The statewide average gained a little more than a penny to $3.442 per gallon last week, while national prices rose just over a nickel to $3.601 per gallon.

According to AAA’s Weekly Fuel Gauge Report, tight supplies, planned and unplanned refinery maintenance and a spike in wholesale prices caused 20 cent price surge for drivers in six states this week including Oregon, Minnesota, Washington, Nebraska and Iowa. Thirteen states experienced a price jump of at least a dime.

Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $3.179 and $3.684 per gallon, respectively. South Carolina and California hold the lowest and highest average prices for the lower 48 states at $3.242 and $4.061 per gallon, respectively.
