The number of distressed homes for sale has fallen across the East Valley in the first six months of the year, according to the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service. The decline reflects the shrinking number of overall homes for sale, and the listing service found the drop is not uniform across ZIP codes.
The ARMLS distressed property list includes properties that are in foreclosure or in a short sale, and the numbers are for the end of January and the end of June:
• Chandler: 729 to 527. Foreclosure hot spots: 85224 and 85225.
• Mesa: 1,006 to 813. Hot spots: 85201, 85202 and 85212.
• Gilbert: 677 to 560. Hot spots: 85233 and 83296.
