Arizona State University President Michael Crow says he won't ask the Arizona Board of Regents for a tuition increase for in-state undergraduate students for the 2014-2015 school year.
Crow says his announcement applies to current and new undergraduate students from Arizona but that he hasn't made any decision yet on recommending tuition levels for out-of-state undergraduate students or for graduate students, whether from Arizona or elsewhere.
Crow says he's committed to using what he calls "innovation and operational efficiency" to make education available to all are able and willing to do the work.
The university will present its formal tuition proposal to the regents in the spring. Crow says he's making his announcement now in order so students and their families have more time to plan.
