A report released just last week predicted that Arizona will add nearly 61,000 jobs in 2013.

But a number of Valley-based companies – as well as plenty that may not be headquartered here, but still have big Arizona operations – are getting a jump-start on that number before 2012 comes to a close.

If you happen to be in the market for a new opportunity yourself – and don’t want to wait until 2013 to get started on your next career, is the East Valley Tribune’s new home – and your new resource – for local jobs from a variety of industries and companies.

This week, competing soft drink and snack food giants PepsiCo and Coca-Cola both have a number of Valley jobs available right now.

While PepsiCo is seeking sales associates for its “mountain region” (which includes the greater Phoenix area, it’s also hiring for a manufacturing warehouse manager to lead a team of 15-30 warehouse associates in Casa Grande.

At Coca Cola, opportunities in both Glendale and Tempe are available for a number of jobs, including: full-time human resources assistant, part-time delivery driver, part-time warehouse personnel, full-time inventory control assistant and full-time machine operator, among others.

Another international company looking to make a big hiring splash in the East Valley market is Marriott International. The hotel chain is getting set to open a new Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in Gilbert in January, and is looking to hire for “all positions,” according to its posting at

Among other opportunities, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in Scottsdale is in search of a full-time development manager, Nestle is hiring part-time retail representatives in the greater Phoenix area to “support display and stocking of Nestle products are various customer sites" and 97.9 KUPD, the Tempe-based rock station, is on the hunt for a full-time promotions coordinator.
