Intel Corp. in Chandler will be honored with Valley of the Sun United Way’s 2007 Spirit of Caring Organization Award during the United Way’s annual Community Impact event Tuesday at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix.

The Spirit of Caring Organization Award is United Way’s highest honor, and is presented each year to an organization that embodies a passion for improving the quality of life throughout the community and is a champion of Valley of the Sun United Way.

Last year Intel employees provided more than 46,000 hours of community service through the “Intel Involved” program. Intel’s Volunteer Matching Grants Program, which donates $200 for each 20 hours of employee volunteer time, also provided more than $300,000 to Arizona schools last year.
