For all you classic car buffs, mark your calendar for next month’s annual Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction January 12-20 in Scottsdale. This is 37 th year for the annual event featuring Shelbys and Stingrays, Rolls Royce, and Roadrunners. Known as “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Events,” Barrett-Jackson will feature over 1000 of the world’s top collector cars. Vehicles like the ‘Cuda, Caddie, Bel Airs, and Mercedes Benz will be on display at the auction.

“With the consignment process completed we’re beginning our home stretch towards the most diverse, star-studded auction in the 37 year history of Barrett-Jackson,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. “We pride ourselves on covering every segment in the growing collector car world. Muscle cars, pre-war gems, resto-mods, entry level cars and outrageous custom machines from across the globe will all be well-represented at our 2008 Scottsdale event.”

This year the auction will feature the very first made 2008 Dodge Challenger and a 2008 Ford Shelby will be sold. The winning bid on the Challenger will benefit “Not my Kid, Inc.” while the Shelby proceeds will go towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The team at Barrett-Jackson also snagged some innovative machines for auction. The firebreathing car crunching robot “Robosauraus” will be auctioned off! Also at the auction, the “Blastolene,” a massive custom roadster built by the Blastolene Brothers measures 19.5 feet long, 8 ft. wide and housing an enormous 702cid V12 engine.

There will also be the “Celebrity Car” segment. Cars from “Thelma and Louise,” John Schneider’s 1969 Dodge Charger Coupe, “The General Lee” from the TV series “Dukes of Hazzard,” as well as Jesse James’ “Flying Car” from the hit TV series, “Monster Garage” will be up for grabs!
