Wind from a monsoon storm knocked down several trees in Gilbert neighborhoods on Saturday.
According to ABC15.com, one tree blocked traffic near the intersection of Gilbert and Ray roads for several hours. Crews told the station most of the damage was between Guadalupe and Warner roads.
In one neighborhood, wind reportedly knocked down a 30-foot pine tree and part of a backyard wall.
Also Saturday, a sudden downpour sparked collisions involving 69 vehicles on Interstate 10 near near downtown Phoenix, closing the westbound roadway for hours and sending seven people to hospitals.
