FLAGSTAFF — A wintry storm has dropped more snow in the state's northern and eastern mountains, making driving tough along Interstates 17 and 40.
Winter storm warnings expired Wednesday morning as the storm moved off to the east.
Strong winds accompanying the storm made snowfall difficult to gauge. The National Weather Service says Flagstaff received between 2 and 5 inches of snow. Jacob Lake on the Kaibab Plateau got 6 inches, the community of McNary near Show Low had less than 3 inches and Window Rock on the Navajo Nation got 2 inches.
Interstates 40 and 17 remained open, but blowing snow was making for very low visibility. Flagstaff schools had been on a two-hour delay
The storm also brought rain to central Arizona, with heavy rain overnight in Phoenix.
