PHOENIX (AP) — Another dust storm and monsoon blew through the Phoenix metropolitan area and flooded some streets in Anthem and along Interstate 17.
The National Weather Service says the Anthem area west of Phoenix received 1½ inches of rain in a 40-minute span late Tuesday afternoon.
Some roadways were briefly flooded, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or property damage.
Parts of I-17 west of Phoenix also received heavy showers, but no weather-related accidents were reported.
Arizona's monsoon season began June 15 and runs through Sept. 30.
In recent years, it has produced massive dust storms called "haboobs." Weather experts say haboobs only occur in Arizona, Africa's Sahara desert and parts of the Middle East because of dry conditions and large amounts of sand.

The progressive readers of the EVT could be called haboobs. They cloud the issues with their ill-conceived logic, create confusion with the "one size fits all" reasoning, and then stir up unhealthy particulates of illnesses with the random, blowhard, hot air rhetoric.
