Temperatures look slightly cooler this afternoon, but it still looks like we'll be hitting 100 degrees in Phoenix and coming close to the record of 102 degrees set back in 1943.

We will also feel the winds pick up. (Breezes in the Valley, windy conditions up north) Today, a trough of low pressure strengthens over the Rockies to our north.

A Red Flag Warning will go in to effect for Northern Arizona at 11 a.m. Tuesday with fire danger increasing as winds gust near 40 to 45 mph. Wind Advisories will also be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. across Northern Arizona due to those high winds.

Breezes will keep blowing, especially across Northeastern Arizona, through the end of the week as the trough remains nearly stationary to our northeast over the Plains.

That will also help keep our Valley temperatures away from the triple digits after today.

In fact, Valley highs are expected in the mid 90s from the middle of this week all the way through next weekend with overnight lows in the 60s.

We could even drop back in to the upper 80s by next Monday.
