Temperatures began heating up on Tuesday, but don't worry - things will start cooling down over the weekend.
A ridge of high pressure that's hanging over the southwestern United States began ramping up temperatures on Tuesday with a high of 96, according to Keith Kincaid, a meteorological technician with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to reach 98 degrees, and on Thursday they should reach 97, he said.
"The normal high temperature this time of year is about 89 degrees," Kincaid said. "So, the temperatures until Thursday are considerably higher."
However, the temps will somewhat drop by the time the weekend arrives.
A low-pressure system coming across Arizona from Southern California will help bring a drop in temperatures, with a high of 94 on Friday before dropping to a high of 88 on Monday, Kincaid said.
