Say goodbye to temperatures in the 90s — well, at least for the next week to 10 days.
Two cold fronts are heading into the Valley this week from the northwest — the first one will begin today with a forecasted high of 81 and a high of 83 on Thursday, bringing in heavy winds and some dust.
Then, on Friday, a stronger cold front will arrive with high temperatures dropping into the 60s over the weekend and lows into the mid to upper 40s.
Friday’s high is expected to be 77 degrees, but by Saturday, the high temperature can drop to 66 degrees, according to James Sawtelle, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
“We can say goodbye to the 90s,” Sawtelle said. “The weekend is going to be substantially cooler. The cold front will bring the temperatures down.”
Sawtelle said cooler temps won’t be focused on any one area, but rather scattered throughout the Valley.
There also will be a 20 percent chance of scatted showers that could begin as early as Friday evening and continue through Saturday morning.
