When temperatures are high, Valley residents will do just about anything to catch a break from the heat.
Sponsored by Arizona Snowbowl, the second annual “Beat the Heat” Arizona WinterFest will provide a much-needed, cool relief from the sweltering summer heat while guests sample craft beers, wine and spirits. The event will also feature food, live music and entertainment, casino games and more.
This year’s “Beat the Heat” Arizona WinterFest, benefiting Every Kid Counts, will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at The Venue Scottsdale.
“The ‘Beat the Heat’ WinterFest is a great opportunity for people to come together, sample some amazing craft beers and wine, and support an extremely deserving cause all at the same time,” said Tim Flanigan, who organizes the annual “Beat the Heat” Arizona WinterFest. “Each year, we select a Valley nonprofit organization to benefit from the event’s proceeds, and this year we’ve picked Every Kid Counts.”
For more than 16 years, Every Kid Counts, a registered 501(c)(3) charity, has been dedicated to helping children in need by providing programs that help today’s youth become tomorrow’s leaders through education, athletics and philanthropy.
“We’re extremely grateful to be the beneficiary of this year’s ‘Beat the Heat’ fundraising event,” said Rob Perelka, president and executive director of Every Kid Counts. “Partners like Arizona WinterFest are the reason we’re able to maintain successful programs to help better kids throughout our community.”
Advance tickets are available for $25 online at www.BeatTheHeatWinterFest.com. Tickets will be available at The Venue Scottsdale, 7117 E. Third Ave., the day of the event for $30. All tickets include admission to the fund-raiser and 20 craft beer or wine tastings.
