Loop 101 near and through Scottsdale will have restrictions this weekend as work continues on installing high-occupancy-vehicle lanes, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced:
Left and center southbound lanes will be closed between Loop 202 and Via de Ventura through 5 a.m. Monday to permit paving.
Northbound lane closures will be in place along sections of the freeway between Cactus Road and Raintree Drive through 5 a.m. Sunday to permit lane striping.
The left and center northbound lanes will be closed between Loop 202 and Via de Ventura from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Oct. 27 to permit paving.

Off-track betting lawchanges to be heard
Proposed changes to Scottsdale's ordinance governing off-track betting to include wagering on dog racing will be heard at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
The current ordinance allows only horse racing. The proposals also include changes in licensing requirements and clarifies the language of the ordinance, city officials said.

Planning Commission to hear plans for Solis resort, condos
The proposed Solis mixed-use resort project will go before the Scottsdale Planning Commission 5 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
The plan calls for a high-end hotel and condominiums near the southeast corner of Scotsdale and Camelback roads.
The hearing was originally scheduled for Oct. 1, but was postponed when the developer asked for additional time for public review of the matter and proposed stipulations regarding it, city officials said.

Residents are invited to participate in the 13th annual Keep Scottsdale Beautiful Day, city officials announced.
The citywide litter cleanup event, sponsored by the Scottsdale Pride Commission, will be 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 25.
