Fifteen nonprofit organizations will share $500,000 from the Walmart Foundation Arizona State Giving Program and its Associate Choice Program.
The organizations focus on hunger relief, education and health and wellness.
“Walmart strives to support organizations that align with our mission to help people live better,” said Kal Patel, senior vice president of operations, Walmart.

Among there awardees was Valley of the Sun YMCA, which received a $50,000 grant to support its i-Learn Drop-Out Recovery Program. Additional beneficiaries include: Special Olympics, Community Food Bank, UMOM New Day Centers, Against Abuse, Coalition for Compassion & Justice, Northern Arizona Food Bank, Casa de los Niños, Sojourner Center, Chicanos Por La Causa, Florence Crittenton and Foundation for Blind Children.
