With the NBA back in action, children may want to join a basketball league of their own.
All 10 branches of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley are hosting teams in the 2012 Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury Basketball League. Games will start this month for these co-ed teams.
Children and teens ages 5 to 14 that are members or non-club members can play games at the clubs. Kids will practice one to two times a week and each club will have at least six regular season games.
All basketball players in the Clubs will also get tickets to a Phoenix Suns or Phoenix Mercury home game.
Prices for the league range from just $10 to $75 and scholarships are available so every child who wants to can play, regardless of their ability to pay. Check with your local club for information.
