PHOENIX, Ariz. (AP) - Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump says authorities are trying to determine what led to the death of an Ahwatukee man whose body was found in his backyard.

Crump says 59-year-old Glen Creno's ex-wife found him face down in a small pond Saturday night.

Paramedics pronounced him dead.

Crump says there were no obvious injuries on his body. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.

Police say the home was in disarray, but they found no immediate signs of forced entry and nothing appeared to be missing.

Creno was a reporter for The Arizona Republic. The newspaper says most recently, he was a general assignment reporter on its metro desk.
