Ahwatukee Kiwanis kicks off children's book drive

New or slightly-used children's books suitable for preschool through junior high students will be collected during the eighth annual book drive Feb. 14-March 16.

The books will be donated to St. Vincent De Paul, Guadalupe Head Start programs, St. Peter Indian Mission School on the Gila River Indian Community, Boys and Girls Club in Guadalupe, The Ryan House and The André House.

To donate books, look for the Kiwanis sign and book collection box at: Ahwatukee Preschool, Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th St.; Horizon Community Learning Center, 16233 S. 48th St.; Toy Town Play Center, 12020 S. Warner-Elliott Loop; Triple R Childcare, Inc., 4510 E. Ray Road; Great Choice Chiropractic, 15810 S. 45th St.; Grace Garden Christian Preschool, 10841 S. 48th St.; Tutor Time Child Care, 15265 S. 48th St.; Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA, 1030 E. Liberty Lane; Center Pointe Dance, 4825 E. Warner Drive; Desert Vista High School, 16440 S. 32nd St.; Mountain Pointe High School, 4201 E. Knox Road.; Ahwatukee Foothills News, 10631 S. 51st. St., Suite No. 1; Barnes and Noble, 4847 E. Ray Road (not a book drop site, but contributed books); Family of Christ Lutheran Church and Learning Center, 3501 E. Chandler Blvd.; Keystone Montessori, 1025 E. Liberty Lane; Foothills Ace Hardware, 1335 E. Chandler Blvd.; and Yoasis Yogurt, 1304 E. Chandler Blvd.
