Local church summer camps offer variety of activities

Ahwatukee Foothills kids and parents can rejoice as a variety of summer camps and activities continue to be offered this year by area churches.

Among the congregations throughout the Foothills, parents who would like to find out what a specific church is offering this summer can contact the church directly.

Mountain Park Community Church, 2408 E. Pecos Road, is offering a middle school summer camp in Prescott for current sixth- through eighth-graders. The students will be attending camp in late July. Embracing limited distractions, cabins, a lake, and an opportunity to build friendship and learn more about God, Mountain Park is currently accepting payments for the trip. Over at St. John Bosco Catholic School, 16035 S. 48th St., students from first through sixth grades can participate in a LEGO Camp practicing STEM education through July. The school is also offering Vacation Bible School for students entering kindergarten through fifth grade.

St. John Bosco is also offering a week of SciPrunuer, which mingles STEM and business. For more information, visit sjbosco.org.

Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th St., is offering a wide variety of travelling camps for youth and kids this summer. With its Summer Life for Youth program, summer trips include visits to the beach, Prescott, Six Flags, and more. A musical camp, Vacation Bible School and a preschool camp.
