Tim Nguyen wants to help you make money in the stock market. In his first book, “Conquering the Bull and the Bear: A Holistic Approach to Profiting in the Stock Market,” the Ahwatukee resident offers a different approach than most other financial investment books.

“The stock market is a reflection of what used to be disparate topics,” Nguyen said.

History, psychology, economics, philosophy, fundamental analysis and technical analysis are all important topics to know when investing in the stock market, he said.

“Other books usually treat all of these topics separately without combining them into a cohesive framework,” Nguyen said.

He also said there is no formula or ironclad method on how to make money in the stock market.

“I firmly believe that the stock market is about how you think,” Nguyen said. “It’s about behaving in ways that are the most difficult, the most uncomfortable.”

Nguyen’s book is written to help the retail investor, regular people, win in the stock market among all of the other players, both big and small.

“Somebody’s got to win at the expense of somebody else,” he said. “Retail investors are usually at the short end of the stick.”

The book helps bridge the information gaps that exist between retail investors and many of the successful investors.

“All of the people that are successful at this have a lot of information, a lot of research at their availability, a lot of discipline in order to make their decisions,” Nguyen said.

This book has been four years in the making, which meant a lot of late nights and weekends spent working.

“It’s been a long path, a lot of research, a lot of writing, a lot of putting my experience down on paper,” Nguyen said.

The book is set to be released today from Tate Publishing, at tatepublishing.com. It will be released nationally in April at Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.

“I’ll have some books myself, too so people are welcome to call and email me,” Nguyen said.
