  Americans are over-fluoridated. 60% of US adolescents are affected with dental fluorosis - white spotted, yellow, brown and/or pitted teeth. Dentists advertise they will happily cover up those fluoride discolored teeth with veneers which cost $1,000 a tooth.

  So unless you factor in the cost for fluorosis, these cost estimates mean nothing at all.
