Theater Works’ Summer Cabaret Series is back.

Kicking off the new series is Guy Pennacchio with “A Tribute To Sinatra.”

Performing on the Mary Jane Gyder stage at 7:30 p.m. June 18, audiences will hear a selection of Frank Sinatra’s hits and have a few laughs. They also will be treated to a meet-and-greet with  Pennacchio, where he will sign a copy of his new CD, “Retrospect,” when purchased at the show.

Theater Works will have beer and wine available for purchase before, during and after the show. Tickets are $24.

New Jersey native Pennacchio has performed nationwide with his uncanny vocal resemblance to Frank Sinatra for more than 12 years.

As a childhood musician playing mellophone in the Hawthorne Muchachos Drum and Bugle Corps, Pennacchio developed a keen ear and paid close attention to Sinatra’s music, thanks to his mother, Marie Pennacchio.

Pennacchio landed his first professional gig by meeting Joni Sledge of Sister Sledge and began performing at the Velvet Room in Scottsdale in 1999. Pennacchio’s credits include opening act for Joan Rivers and Earth, Wind and Fire. He has performed his “Sinatra Tribute Show” at many local upscale venues and as far as the shores of Maui, Hawaii.

Theater Works’ Summer Cabaret Series is returning for its third season.

Cabaret shows will be July 22, 23, 24 and Aug. 12, 13, 14 in the McMillin Theater. Artists and performances will be announced soon. This summer series offers the West Valley a new look at theater and provides a fresh experience for audiences.

The July and August cabaret shows will perform on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Doors open one hour before the show, and early arrival is encouraged for theater goers to enjoy the intimate ambiance of the cabaret theater.

Tickets are on sale online at www.theaterworks.org and at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts.  The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and may be reached at 623-815-7930.

Theater Works is in the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts at 8355 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria.
