Ahwatukee Foothills residents will have a chance to interact with Phoenix’s new police chief on Wednesday when he will be the guest speaker at the police department’s Tukee Talk.

Tukee Talks, put on by the Phoenix Police Department, are held quarterly at Pecos Community Center, 17010 S. 48th St. The meetings give residents a chance to interact with local officers and learn about new or existing programs the department sponsors.

On Sept. 20, Chief Daniel Garcia will make a stop at Pecos. The chief will be available to address any questions or concerns in the Ahwatukee community.

Community Action Officer Benjamin Morris said the Tukee Talk will be a good opportunity for residents to show Chief Garcia how much law enforcement means to Ahwatukee Foothills.

Garcia was sworn in on May 14, 2012. He has more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement. He most recently served as the assistant chief for the Dallas Police Department.

The Tukee Talk will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the community room.
