In all the rush to conquer holiday shopping, don’t forget the pets on your list.

Local shops in Ahwatukee Foothills make it easy to spoil four-legged friends. Helen Goldblatt of Bone Appetit Bakery and Boutique said pet owners can sign up now to reserve their dog a special feast for the holidays. The bakery will once again be offering their Fido Holiday Feast, which includes roasted turkey, mashed sweet potatoes and molasses and brown rice with bacon. The frozen TV dinner is the perfect way to spoil dogs without making them sick.

Bone Appetit also has wine and beer that’s made just for dogs.

“It’s been really popular,” Goldblatt said. “While the guys are watching football they can share their beer and the dogs have their own.”

Of course the boutique side of the shop has holiday dresses and sweaters and even new Arizona State University apparel.

Malinda Malone of Malinda’s Pampered Pets suggests new collars, leashes, bowls and beds for dogs. Malinda’s has an assortment of clothes and Christmas-themed dog toys that make great gifts as well. They’re currently expanding their line to carry more merchandise this year than in the past.

Malone is also organizing pictures with Santa to raise money for her Pomeranian rescue, Potato Chips Pomeranian Rescue. On Dec. 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $25 families can come and take a professional photo with Santa. Pets are invited but not required. Each family will receive two 4-inch-by-6-inch prints and a CD with all the photos from the session.

Wiggles and Wags Pet Resort is also planning photos with Santa. Families and their pets can come to the resort each of the first three Saturdays in December from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Professional photographers from Scratch and Sniff Photo will be on hand to capture the photo at a 75 percent discount. It will cost $25 for one 8-inch-by-10-inch print and two 5-inch-by-7-inch prints.
