Spring cleaning is coming late in Tempe this year.

The city is encouraging residents to clean out their closets and garages and bring almost anything to their Zero Waste Day on Nov. 16 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tempe Fire Training Facility. Anything from school supplies to hazardous waste to tires will be recycled, reused or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. There will also be free secure document shredding.

Participants must show proof of Tempe residency. A donation of one canned food item is requested for Tempe Community Action Agency’s food pantry.

More information and a full list of donation items can be found on the City of Tempe’s website, tempe.gov.
