Enrollment for veterans interested in signing up for Arizona State University’s Veterans Upward Bound program is open until July 31.

A press release sent by ASU states the program offers veterans free academic services and college preparation classes, including academic and career counseling and refresher courses in math, English, science and other courses.

"This is the only federally funded educational program in Maricopa County that serves veterans based on income requirements or potential first-generation college students," said director Veronica Hernandez. "Participants develop a network of community with other veterans and are supported by staff who care about their success."

The classes and services are offered at five locations in the Valley, including the Tempe campus located at 1250 S. College Avenue and East Valley Veterans Education in Tempe, which is located at 2055 S. Cottonwood Drive. Contact the school at (480) 965-3944 or visit vub.asu.edu for more information.
