A transient who fell more than 20 feet into an abandoned silo in Tempe was rescued and then arrested for trespassing.
The man was pulled from the historic Hayden Flour Mill silo Friday night after hikers coming off a nearby mountain heard his cries for help.
KNXV-TV in Phoenix reports that the man had somehow gotten inside the old mill and then fell through a hole in the floor. Fire officials tell the station he was complaining of leg pain when they pulled the man out. Paramedics treated him at the scene and turned him over to police.
