Police have searched the bottom of a lake for a Tempe woman missing since last weekend, but there's still no sign of the community college student.

Adrienne Salinas, 19, was last seen by her roommates at 3 a.m. Saturday when she left her apartment to drive to her boyfriend's home in Scottsdale, authorities said.

Salinas, who attends Gateway Community College, sent a text message to her boyfriend at 4:47 a.m. that she was going to his apartment, but she never arrived and her phone was turned off at 5:07 a.m., according to investigators.

Friends said Salinas has been dating a man she has known since childhood.

Police found Salinas' car about a block from her apartment Saturday. The doors were locked, the overnight bag she packed was gone, and there were no signs of a struggle.

The car had some front-end damage and two flat tires, and police believe Salinas was involved in a traffic accident late Friday or early Saturday.

Authorities spent Monday night searching Tempe Town Lake.

Officers said they have no specific reason to believe her body is in the water, but they searched it with sonar to make sure.

Rick Salinas said he figured something was wrong when his daughter didn't call him Sunday on Father's Day.

"This is so unlike her," Rick Salinas told KTVK-TV. "It's a puzzle, a mystery."

He fears something happened to his daughter as she walked from her disabled car back to her apartment.
