Former NFL star Darren Sharper was indicted by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office on multiple counts of sexual assault and administering dangerous drugs.
According to a press release sent by the Tempe Police Department, Sharper was indicted on two counts of sexual assault and three counts of administering dangerous drugs. The charges stem from an incident in November in which two women alleged Sharper sexually assaulted them after putting drugs in their drinks at an apartment complex in Tempe.
Sharper, who received five pro bowl nods during a career where he played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints, is tied to sexual assault incidents in three other states. He faces charges in California of rape and furnishing a controlled substance, and is connected to incidents in Nevada and Louisiana.
