Tempe police have arrested a man accused of chasing two 13-year-old girls in a park and making a sexual-related comment toward another woman,
Curtis Mann, 19, was arrested on two counts of disorderly conduct on Monday after chasing the girls about 5:20 p.m. that same day at Harelson Park, 9325 W. Warner Ranch Drive. Police say Mann approached the girls and engaged in a conversation and chased them as they ran away. The girls ran toward adults and other kids in the park and called 911 to provide a description of him when they were a safe distance away, according to police.
Moments after arriving at the park, police discovered Mann hiding near a walled in area near the greenbelt.
Investigators are continuing to investigate the incident and trying to determine whether he has done this in other areas.
Police are reminding parents with children and teenagers to make sure they do not walk alone and that they do not walk outside alone with earphones and not to approach any strangers following them or acting suspiciously.
