Tempe Elks Lodge 2251 is organizing a Flag Day program to provide more information about the roots and proper maintenance of the American flag.

The event, scheduled for June 15 at 4 p.m., will offer attendees a demonstration about how to dispose of a flag properly by local Boy Scouts, as well as a brief program outlining the history of the flag. The latter includes a presentation about a number of American flags and how they came to exist.

The public can attend the event at the Elks Lodge, located at 2320 S. Hardy Drive in Tempe. Contact the lodge at (480) 967-3160 for additional information about the event.
