The cause of death of man pulled from Tempe Town Lake on Friday is consistent with drowning, but police are next waiting for toxicology results before they make an official determination.
Tempe police released the findings of the preliminary autopsy report on Monday. The identity has not yet been positively identified by dental records, but police have said the description matches that of Willie Jigba, 24, who went missing Jan. 15 after leaving a party in the 900 block of East Weber Drive, about a half-mile from where dive team members from the Tempe Fire Department recovered the body.
During the autopsy, conducted Monday morning, no signs of trauma were found on the body and there were no signs of foul play, police said.
Cadaver dogs belonging to the Arizona Search Track and Rescue, a volunteer search team, picked up a scent last week along the water west of the Scottsdale Road bridge near the north side of the shore.
