Tempe police arrested a 46-year-old man for trafficking in stolen property after dozens of bicycles and parts were found at his home.

Tempe police say detectives served a search warrant on Tuesday and found over 50 bicycles and bicycle parts after getting information the suspect was buying and then selling stolen bicycles.

The suspect told police he bought approximately 20 bicycles a week for $15-$100 per bike, knowing they were probably stolen.

Police say many of the bicycles were being sent to Mexico.

Many owners of the bikes have not been identified and many of the bicycles have not yet been reported stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.

ABC15 is not identifying the suspect as he has not yet been formally charged.

Bicyclists have the ability to register their bike with the City of Tempe . This increases the chances of returning stolen bike's to their rightful owner.
