Keys to Tempe schools' experimental lunch menu: healthy, fresh

Chef Tom French is working with two schools in the Tempe Elementary School District on changing the school's lunch menu to be able to offer more fruit and vegetables.

Welcome to the discussion.

Thank you, Chef French. (If only these poor kids had learned to eat well at home.)

LOOK AT WHO THEY ARE EXPERIMENTING THESE "SO-CALLED" HEALTHY LUNCHES WITH..........THE HISPANIC KIDS......THAT'S WHO.

NO MIDDLE-CLASS WHITE KIDS WOULD EAT THIS "ECO-GARBAGE" BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS WOULD BE SCREAMING.

I THOUGHT THE GOVERNMENT PUT A STOP TO ALL OF THESE "OFF-THE-WALL".......EXPERIMENTATION PROGRAMS ON NON-WHITES....AFTER THE 1940'S AND 1950'S WITH THE NATIVE-AMERICAN KIDS.

Interesting. I wonder just how much Chef French is costing the school district that no doubt will be crying poor at the bond issue. Second question, would it take anyone with any sense any time to figure out how to give kids a few raw veggies in their lunch? The school district has to wait for Washington DC and a "Chef" to figure this out? And people think our Education dollars are being wasted- go figure. Here is an idea, why don't they have a weigh in of these kids prior to the program taking off and a weigh in at the end of the year. Then we can all see what kind of an impact this fuss and expense will have had. We certainly cannot leave feeding children healthy food to parents anymore.
