Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity members officials were recently informed that their recognition as a fraternity chapter at Arizona State University has been revoked.

ASU spokeswoman Julie Newberg told ABC15 members displayed disregard for university policies and sanctions previously levied against the chapter – such as interim suspension and student code of conduct violations.

Newberg said their conduct "conflicts with the fundamental values and ideals of both the fraternity and the university."

The expulsion comes on the heels of two high profile incidents involving the fraternity.

In December of 2012, 19-year-old Jack Culolias was found dead in the Salt River. Culolias was last seen November 30 after being kicked out of the Cadillac Ranch restaurant at Tempe Marketplace during a fraternity party.

In May, 20-year-old fraternity member Aidan Mohr was left unconscious at a Valley hospital. Police said Mohr took an estimated 20 shots of tequila, boosting his blood-alcohol-content level to .40 percent. That is nearly five times above the legal limit.
