The Queen Creek Fire Department, in conjunction with the National Weather Service, is offering residents of all ages the opportunity to learn how to identify and report severe weather.

Participants will learn about thunderstorms, cloud features associated with microbursts and tornadoes, estimating wind speeds and how local weather spotters can assist the National Weather Service issue warnings and advisories.

The class starts at 6:30 p.m. June 9 at the Queen Creek Library's Zane Gray Conference room, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. The class is free, but registration is required. Contact Jon Spezzacatena at (480) 358-3028 or jon.spezz@queencreek.org.
