The Maricopa County Community College District approved an agreement Tuesday with Queen Creek for land to build a “communiversity” in the near future. Under the agreement, the school district will lease land near the Queen Creek Branch Library for $1 per year for 50 years. The college district will use $4.4 million in bond funds approved by voters in 2004 to construct the facility.
Rio Salado College will operate the campus, with educational offerings by Chandler-Gilbert Community College and other universities yet to be determined. Students will be able to seamlessly achieve a bachelor’s degree under the agreement with the universities. The campus will open in 2012 or 2013.

How about raising the standards for the High School before lowering those for the college?
