A 12-foot by 18.8-foot cartoon map of Queen Creek will be unveiled at the first annual Queen Creek Business Expo on Thursday - and it might just set a record. Journey Maps, the Arizona company that produced the town map, has submitted paperwork about the creation to Guinness World Records.

"We believe in old-fashioned community pride," Aaron Childs, founder of Journey Maps, said in a news release. "The enormous map like the one we are about to unveil ... is unlike anything we've ever done, and we couldn't be more excited that it's happening right here in Queen Creek."

The expo, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Barney Family Sports Complex, 22050 E. Queen Creek Road, is open to the public and will also feature free food and drinks, raffle prizes, and business exhibits. Exhibitors will include several Queen Creek businesses who have their logos showcased on the "largest community map in Arizona."

Free food will be provided by local favorites including Baci Italian Bistro, Rudy's Mexican Food, and Chick-fil-A. All raffle prizes will directly benefit the Queen Creek Boys & Girls Club. Raffle tickets are $5 or 5 for $20 and will include gift certificates, gift baskets, and other prizes donated by Queen Creek businesses.

The big map will be revealed to the public at 6 p.m.
