Queen Creek wants residents to be prepared for emergencies by following an easy process outlined by fire inspector Jon Spezzacatena.

With September as National Preparedness Month, Spezzacatena urges residents to make an emergency kit with food, water and first-aid items. Another step to prepare would be to create a family evacuation plan.

Residents should also inform themselves about all the disasters that could happen in the Queen Creek area, such as monsoons and flooding. Spezzacatena also recommends that residents get involved in the community by signing up for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) or Citizen Cops.
