A Queen Creek woman is in critical condition after she was ejected from her vehicle when it rolled over Monday morning. The accident happened about 9:07 a.m. on Hunt Highway east of Gary Road in the San Tan Valley area.

Pinal County Sheriff's Office investigators say they believe the 39-year-old woman's vehicle drifted off the roadway onto the shoulder while she was talking on her cell phone, and the vehicle rolled over while she was trying to steer back onto the roadway.

The woman was flown to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital.

That is a newer model vehicle, meaning it should have had a safety device that "warns" when the safety belt is not engaged. So this lady must have had it disabled or it was broken and never fixed. I just do not understand the logic behind not wearing a safety belt.
